Centerton Veteran's Memorial Park
Brick pavers may be purchased by the public to
honor any American who has served, or is currently serving, in the United States
Armed Services. The Veteran need not be a resident
of Centerton or the State of Arkansas to qualify for a paver.

Centerton Veteran's Memorial Park is dedicated
to the men and women who have
served our country valiantly over the years in our armed forces.

The Centerton City Council at their August 11,
2009, meeting authorized $12,500
for Phase 1 of the Centerton Veterans Memorial
Park construction. Funds for the
project come from
the Advertising & Promotion Commission
which collects 1%
tax on all prepared foods sold within the City. The
Commission has designated
that 90% of the money collected will go to
Centerton City Parks. Phase 1 of the
Veteran's Memorial Park
project will include electrical work to be
done on the
site, begin planting trees and shrubs and taking
donations for the Pavers.
The new Park will be built by volunteer labor whenever possible.
The Park will be located in back of the City Hall, just across the drive
from the children’s swings.
The concept for Veterans Memorial Park came from
the Parks & Recreation
Committee. That Committee consists of Chairman and City Council member
Patricia Thornhill, City Council member Josie Reed, City Clerk Todd Wright,
former Council Alderman Bill Edwards, General Manager of Centerton Arvest
Bank Luke Colley, owner of Arbor Realty Beverly Usher, Centerton resident
Julie
Uhrig, Lifepoint Baptist Church Pastor Mike Brinson, City Attorney Brian
Rabal
and Centerton Mayor Bobbie Griffith.
Ground breaking took place Tuesday, September 1, 2009!

A dedication ceremony was held.

to honor individual veterans. They may be purchased
as a permanent remembrance or tribute to that special someone who served
(or is currently serving) in our armed forces
