Good Afternoon, Here is your weekend update for our great city of Centerton. First of all I want to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day this Monday, with that being said All Centerton City Offices will be closed for the holiday. Also trash service will be delayed one day, which means if your pickup is Monday, it will be Tuesday etc. Ok now onto the good stuff, first of all please don’t forget the Centerton Farmer’s market on Saturday from 9am until 1 pm at the intersection of Highway 102 and Sienna Drive on the west side of the Centerton Lake. This has been growing each week and the folks running this is doing a great job, please stop by and see what they have to offer and support your local vendors.
A few more events coming up is the Fishing Derby at the C.H. Craig Fish Hatchery at 977 West Fish Hatchery Road here in Centerton, on Saturday June 7th from 9am until 2pm. Children 12 and under can fish here for free with a 3 fish limit and there will be tagged fish and prizes. Then on June 28th will be Centerton Day, this will be a al day event with many activities going on, we will post more info soon, but one thing we are in need of is donations for the auction which is a benefit auction for the “Shop with a Cop” and Animal Shelter and the Centerton Volunteer Fire Department. Also the Fire Department will be putting on a pancake breakfast and we are in need of donations for this as far as sausage, pancake mix, syrup, etc. Please contact me if you are able to help.
A few more things those who have applied for the open Planning Commission opening and has turned in your application please be a the Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday May 27th at 6pm to be interviewed by the commission. Also school is about to be done for the year and there are a lot of children playing in the neighborhoods, please be mindful of this and slow down please, the posted speed limits on most streets in Centerton is 20 miles per hour. Our police have increased patrols for speeders and I am happy to announce each one of our units have radar equipment, so please slow down and watch for the children.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything, Thanks Mayor Bill
