The Centerton Fire Department escorted Santa Clause around town prior to Christmas. Santa passed out candy while visiting with the children.
The Centerton Police Department participated in the 'Shop With A Cop' program. Several students from Gamble Elementary School were selected to participate.
Centerton's annual Christmas parade.
Good Evening, I wanted to tell everyone about some upcoming events, first of all on Monday March 10th at 6pm at Old High in Bentonville there will be a public meeting to look at plans for the new high school, to be located here in Centerton, I have had questions about funding and such, please try to attend and bring these questions to the school administration.
Then on Saturday March 15th at 9am, I will have my monthly “Coffee with the Mayor” here at city hall, this is a good chance to come meet me and other elected officials, and we are in the campaign season so I am sure folks running for county and state offices will be in attendance to answer your questions and to greet and meet.
Also The Children of Centerton will be sponsoring the 4th Annual Chili Supper on March 15th, 2014 at New Life Fellowship Church, 900 W. Centerton Blvd, Centerton, Arkansas at 5:00 pm. Scheduled will be a Bake Auction, Silent Auction, and Bidding Auction on items donated. The cost will be $5 for Chili Supper. All proceeds go towards Snack Pack Program, Shop with A Cop, and clothing for the Children.
Donations are needed for all auction events. Donations can be dropped off at the Centerton Police Department or First National Bank of Ft. Smith, Centerton Branch. You can also email to
for questions or to schedule pickups for donated items. All help would be greatly appreciated. The Children are our future.
Thanks Mayor Bill
Good Evening, I wanted to give some updates first of all tomorrow (Friday) is Valentine’s Day and I wanted to tell you about some great places to take your sweetheart here in Centerton. First of all Domabella’s Italian Restaurant located at 439 West Centerton Blvd is going to have a special of a 12 oz. Smoked Prime Rib dinner served with Salad, spaghetti w/marinara sauce, bread and desert along with the full menu of Italian specialties.
Next Jim’s Centerton Inn located at 1084 W Centerton Blvd will be open Friday night and they will have Catfish and Rib specials, and also don’t forget El Farolito Mexican Restaurant at 415 West Centerton Blvd for some great Tex-Mex food, why fight the crowds elsewhere when you can stay close and have great food, please tell these folks you seen this on here.
Now some other updates, first of all City Offices will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day, and trash service will be on schedule. Also there will no “Coffee with the Mayor” this month, however we will get in full swing starting March 15th, we should have folks coming who are running for county and state offices at this time to meet our citizens and tell more about themselves, I look forward to meeting these folks.
Also your City Council this week approved a “No Soliciting” Ordinance, which basically if you have a city issued No Soliciting Sticker on your door and someone knocks on your door they can be fined. Also solicitors have to have a city issued business license to be able to go door to door, this has not changed and you have the right to ask for it. The stickers will be provided free of charge and they are on order and as soon as they come in I will let everyone know so you can pick them up at city hall.
Lastly, I wanted to give a update on our storm sirens I received a call today from the company putting them in and they are being shipped and we should have them next week, they will make arrangements to put them in after they arrive, I still think it will be early March before they are installed, I will keep everyone posted because we will have to test them and I don’t want to panic anyone. The sirens will be placed at city facilities and will cover the majority of our city.
Everyone please be safe this weekend and remember to check out our local restaurant’s tomorrow with your Valentine..!!
Thanks Mayor Bill
